Welcome to Pack 80! (Dracut, Massachusetts)
Cub Scout Pack 80 was formed in the 1960's. We are a family pack for both girl and boy dens K-5th grade. A Cub Scout starts out as a Lion in Kindergarten and follows the Cub Scout trail to Arrow of Light. When a Cub Scout is a Tiger, before they earn the rank of Tiger they must earn the rank of Bobcat. When a Cub Scouts comes into the pack after Tigers, they must earn the rank of Bobcat before any rank. We are chartered by Christ Church United which means they support our pack by providing a location for our meetings. We are provided with a closet space to keep all our pack equipment. We are part of the Spirit of Adventure council and belong to the West Winds district of Massachusetts.
Our pack holds monthly committee meetings for all families in the pack. Typically, each den meets twice a month and we have approximately 1 maybe 2 pack events. Our annual events include fishing, rocket launches, camping, pinewood derby, Blue and Gold (birthday of scouting), and a crossover to the next rank. Our district holds a monthly round table and a district dinner in June. Our summer day camp program is always the 3rd week in August and is help at the Paul center in Chelmsford, MA. Our council (New England Basecamp) is in Woburn, MA. They have a scout store to purchase uniforms, books, patches, and other outdoor equipment. The council runs training courses for adults as well as advancement classes for cub scout and older scout ranks.
